Shortly after the Resurrection of Jesus, He joined Himself (incognito) to two disciples on the road to the village of Emmaus. These disciples were discussing events that had happened over the last few days in Jerusalem (the Trial through the crucifixion of Jesus), all complicated by the fact that Jesus’ body seems to have been removed from the tomb. Without identifying Himself the Resurrected Jesus said, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory? And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself” (Luke 24:25-27).
Jesus is saying in effect, though a thing may be hard to believe, a succession of reliable, trustworthy witnesses renders it believable. Now will you believe the prophet Isaiah on another subject, the re-gathering of Israel? This is what he said:
He [the Lord] will raise a banner for the nations
and gather the exiles of Israel;
he will assemble the scattered people of Judah
from the four quarters of the earth.
--Isaiah 11:12
--Isaiah 11:12
Now let me tell you something that borders on the unbelievable, but its reality, plus the Word of God make it believable. This word comes from Rebecca Brimmer, International President and CEO of Bridges for Peace:
“Tucked into a small area of land to the northeast of the India subcontinent, just below China and above Bangladesh is the home of one of the most fascinating groups of people on earth. According to the history that has been passed from generation to generation, this tribe was exiled from the Northern Kingdom of Israel in 721 B.C. Traveling across what became the “silk route” the tribe settled in this remote section of land.
“This group of people, called the Bnei Menashe, has been officially recognized as descendants of Israel and are understood to be the descendants of the Tribe of Menasseh, one of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel. They want to come home.”
As funds are raised these 273 persons will be brought home to Israel.
Does this help you “believe”?
